Nature Living
History:
The Farnsworth House (1945 – 1951) is an iconic work of modern American architecture. It was designed by renowned modern architect Mies van der Rohe in 1937 and was the first home he designed in America
My Creation:
The Farnsworth project takes living within nature to a whole new level. I decided to redefine the geographical location of the original project to a Creekside location within a canyon. My goal for this project was to build with minimal impact to the surrounding area. Imagine waking up, opening your bedroom blinds only to discover the wildlife living just inches away. This design takes an iconic structure and brings it into the modern era while preserving the nature surrounding it.
Designed in Formit and rendered in Lumion using a basic pre-existing shell model designed by Mies van der Rohe.
